Narkotikum by yantotzkie Narkotikum by yantotzkie
36"x48" Oil on canvas

Inspired by this song:  Narkotikum by Georgian Waters

Iyan De Jesus 2014

edit: I painted over the skin tone with thin layers of paint so it actually looks smoother now.

PS. I'm not used to painting subjects with their feet showing. I almost gave up because I don't have a model and I have to look at my own foot while painting. Sort of like doing acrobatics in front of the canvas.

Fantastic job, really!
And I wouldn`t have guessed for the world that you struggled painting the feet .. I think

P.S. If I might add, watching your latest paintings, I like how your paintings are evolving - there is much more ease, confidence and emotion than in your first painting from this series.
Living in a world full of so much information meant to have a visual impact on us, I often discover that some things don`t surprise me anymore, while as your paintings always feel like a nice feast. They`re interesting to watch in detail, they`re interesting to watch as a whole - a real treat for the eyes and soul!

Thank you very much for telling me! It's rather hard for me to see how much I've improved over the years since the change was gradual. I only get the chance to look back at my older pieces and realize what you mean when I read your comment. :) I couldn't even describe my works in such a beautiful way as you did, thank you!

I know what you mean... Feet are just plain hard to draw, simple as that!
