There really should be a "mixed media" option in DA's main art category.
Steam Sketched on my way to/from work, inside a bus/jeepney/tricycle, which also explains the roughness of my pencil strokes. Carelessly rendered in Photoshop cs2, using a mouse, a brush tool, and a semi-transparent layer.
It was totally a different experience taking out my sketchpad and mechanical pen inside a public transportation. I got to meet an old man who used to have a passion in drawing but ended up pursuing a different career, had a little kid stare at me for a loooong time, was greeted by a really cheerful family, made an office lady smile, and made a couple of strangers wonder about what the heck I was trying to do.
Yeah i have! I'm half Filipino Have been there 10 times already! Really love the Philippines, and i really miss it right now
Haha, The adventures of Yantotzkie in the Jeepney! xD
No problem! Yes, but it is no biggie It's for the Onn-Off magazine, for students who study Industrial Design at my University. But it's a first for me to have something published, so i'm really excited
I see, so you are based in Netherlands, and a half-filipino. No wonder why you knew about jeepneys! haha! Van Gogh and Rembrant were dutch, right? There must be a museum that displays their works somewhere near you. I can only see their works through the internet and art books.. you're quite lucky!
Anyway, to be published on that magazine is still a good opportunity to showcase your talent! I never had anything like that. Goodluck!
Yup, I am. That's why! Haha Yes, they are dutch. Holland is pretty small, so their museums are always nearby
Thank you! But hey... you live in the Philippines, where you have yummiest food, tropical weather, awesome nature, tall mountains and the most gorgeous scuba places, very kind people, a lot of different languages, and a thousand islands to explore. And Manilla is a beautifull city, where there is always something going on. I love the chaos, the traffic, the people... everything. I think you are the lucky one
Guess every country has its own good points. I have to agree except for the heavy traffic part. There's really nothing nice about it if you're forced to deal with it everyday. I'm always late for work because of that. Good thing we're already used to it. Well that happens on other countries too, I guess.
But yes, the mountains here are nice. I've been saving some money to have a vacation somewhere North next year. Seems like you've been to a lot more places around this country than me. To think I've been living here for 2 decades already...
