I've never been into an art school so I'm not sure. But I have to say that you have to resist the temptation of comparing your works to the works of others. In the art scene, most collectors are interested with the way the artist develops his/her personal style and creativity. The more different, the better. Not that it has to be super unique, it just have to have a taste of your soul in it. Finding your own "style" isn't something that can happen overnight. Some famous and well-established artist spent years, or even decades to find it. Just enjoy creating art while you are still in school. Experiment as much as you can and do more art as possible. Before you know it, you are already at your best potential.
